Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

  • 8 tblsp salted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Microwave the butter for about 40 seconds until it's just melted but not hot, aiming for a mostly liquid consistency.
  3. Combine all the ingredients. Mix until crumbly. Use your hands to mix.
  4. Roll the dough into 12 large balls (or 9 for extra large cookies) and place them on a cookie sheet.
  5. Bake for 9-11 minutes until the cookies appear puffy, dry, and just slightly golden. It's crucial not to overbake them to keep them soft.
  6. Allow the cookies to cool on the pan for about 30 minutes.
